Qualification criteria
The winner of the San Marino championship advances to the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. Normally, the winner of the Coppa Titano obtains a place in the preliminary round of the UEFA Conference League. If the winner of the Coppa Titano coincides with the champion of the league, the Conference League place generally goes to the cup finalist or the second-placed team in the league.
As for the preliminary round, matches are single-leg and, in the event of a draw after regulation time, the match proceeds directly to extra time and, if necessary, penalties. Each qualifying round, after the preliminary round, is played over two legs. The team that, at the end of the two legs, has scored the most goals overall, advances to the next round. If, after both matches, the total scores are tied, extra time is played; If the tie persists after extra time, qualification is decided by penalties.
After each round, only the winners advance to the next stage, while those eliminated or relegated from other European competitions or eliminated are eliminated.
