In San Marino, football is the most popular sport, with hundreds of young male footballers and female footballers taking part, as well as dedicated programmes for training new coaches and referees, and inclusion projects (Football is Inclusion), direct access to football for younger girls (UEFA Playmakers) and programmes for former players (ASCO 35) or activities tailored to specific groups of people (Calcio Camminato, open to the over-50s).
The San Marino Football Association is doing everything possible to ensure that the Grassroots football community – the true foundation of every country’s football system – can continue to grow, as well as providing a safe haven for all lovers of this magnificent game. Initiatives and events such as Grassroots Day are a step in exactly this direction.
