The Department of Training and Research - established within the San Marino Football Federation - is responsible for issuing qualifications and assigning coaches at all levels. The Department oversees the specialized professional training of qualified coaches by planning, organizing, and managing training, instruction, qualification, refresher, and advanced training courses.
The Department of Training and Research is also responsible for organizing experimental and/or educational courses for youth football coaches. In addition to these, other roles - sometimes non-mandatory, but identified by the FSGC - are also supported by training, instruction, and refresher courses. The qualitative and quantitative growth of the coaching staff is an integral part of the Department's goals, from grassroots to elite level football.
In short, the Department of Education and Research organizes courses for obtaining coaching and coaching licenses: UEFA B, UEFA B Futsal, UEFA B Goalkeeper, UEFA C (Grassroots C License), National Goalkeeper Grassroots, and Leader (Grassroots D License), issuing admission notices in collaboration with the Sammarinese Football Coaches Association (ASAC). A parallel activity is represented by refresher courses, mandatory to maintain the validity of the various licenses. Various initiatives are implemented to meet all the needs of the different types of diplomas.
