FSGC also present at the 76th FIFA Congress in Vancouver
The 76th edition of the FIFA Congress was held in Vancouver (Canada) on 30 April. The event brought together delegates from all member associations, who met to discuss the main challenges and strategic directions for the future of football. Representing the San Marino Football Federation were President Marco Tura, General Secretary Luigi Zafferani and Vice President Simone Grana. The Congress was opened by FIFA President Gianni Infantino. The head of world football – who officially confirmed his candidacy for the 2027 elections – looked back on the achievements of the past decade and highlighted the record investments, in particular in the development of youth and women’s football. Inevitably, there was also discussion of this summer’s showpiece event: the upcoming FIFA World Cup to be played across Canada, the United States and Mexico.
For the FSGC, the Congress was also an important opportunity to build new relationships and strengthen existing ones. In this context, the San Marino delegation met with their counterparts from Bangladesh, just a few days after the official announcement of the friendly match scheduled for 5 June. The fixture at the San Marino Stadium will in fact be the first ever official game for the Titans against a national team from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
