Referees: Ilie, Ercolani and Ernesto involved in Baltic Cup duty in Kaunas

Another international assignment for the San Marino refereeing sector. Last weekend Laurentiu Ilie, Gianmarco Ercolani and Cristiano Ernesto were involved in the Baltic Cup, a three-team tournament held in the Baltic republics with the Under-21 national teams of Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia. The San Marino trio were in charge yesterday of the match between Lithuania and Latvia played in Kaunas – which ended 2-1 to the Latvians – refereed by Ilie with Ercolani and Ernesto as assistant referees. The appointment is part of the cooperation between the Estonian FA and the San Marino FA, launched at the start of the season with some Baltic referees appointed to matches on the opening day of the San Marino league. It represents an important opportunity for the Biancazzurri’s refereeing sector to test itself and improve in every area. For Ilie, moreover, it was one of his first international appearances.
