Referees: Laura Cordani assistant in Luxembourg–Türkiye Nations League match

The international assistant referee for San Marino, Laura Cordani, was appointed to the high-profile clash between Luxembourg and Türkiye, decisive for top spot in UEFA Women's Nations League Group C2. At the Emile Mayrisch Stadium in Esch-sur-Alzette last Friday, Necla Güngör’s side recorded a convincing 4-0 victory over the hosts from Luxembourg. The win all but secures promotion to League B for Türkiye, who sit on maximum points at the halfway stage of the group, with their closest challengers now the beaten Luxembourg side, five points adrift. The match was refereed by Miriama Bočková, assisted by San Marino’s representative, Laura Cordani, and Slovak assistant referee Alexandra Vargova. For Cordani, after ending her first year as an international assistant with the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship semi-final between Spain and England last May, this was effectively her first official assignment of the 2023-24 season, as well as her absolute debut as part of an appointed refereeing team for a senior national team fixture.
