Referees: Special guest Rito Briglia at technical meeting

The comprehensive training programme launched by the CAN – National Referees Commission – aimed at the constant human and professional development of its members involved weekly in the San Marino championship, reached an important milestone yesterday. Chairing the regular technical meeting was a very special guest: Serie A observer and member of the National Commission of Professional Observers, Rito Briglia, who delivered a lecture on foul challenges and their disciplinary management. Following the greeting from CAN President Cristiano Ascari, who thanked Rito for his availability and the AIA (Associazione Italiana Arbitri – Italian Referees Association) leadership for authorising his participation, and a brief introduction by Head of Education Giacomo Cenci, Briglia guided attendees through the analysis of a series of clips taken from Serie A, B and C matches, placing the emphasis on the correct interpretation of incidents by match officials and their assessment by referee observers during the post-match debrief. Briglia’s clarity of exposition and rhetorical skills captivated everyone present, who felt fully engaged. The evening proved to be an excellent opportunity for growth for the San Marino refereeing movement, in line with the approach adopted by the current leadership, which regards continuous education as a key element of its management strategy.
