ASCO 35 on the podium at the 7th San Marino For The Children Trophy
Last Saturday, on the pitch of the “Ezio Conti” in Dogana, the seventh San Marino For The Children Trophy took place. Also involved in the four-team tournament was the Associazione Sammarinese Calciatori Over 35, who finished in third place. In the first of the two semi-finals, the San Marino side narrowly lost to Rimini Legends (decisive goal by Davide Tosi Brandi) while in the other tie it was the Rappresentativa Toscana who beat Team Del Cuore Emilia Romagna 2-0 thanks to a brace from Bonini. The two defeated teams then met in the following match and it was ASCO 35 who came out on top. Team Del Cuore Emilia Romagna went in front through Carmelo Rossi, but the San Marino team managed to level thanks to Oscar Mina. The match was then decided on penalties, where the Biancazzurri prevailed. In the final, victory went to the Rappresentativa Toscana, who beat Rimini Legends on penalties. Despite the scorching heat, the four teams battled it out in a friendly atmosphere and in the name of solidarity. The proceeds from the tournament were donated to San Marino For The Children, with a result that the team itself described – in a statement – as “extremely positive and one that allows us to contribute to the humanitarian aims pursued by the San Marino non-profit organisation”. ASCO 35 will be back in action in July with two more summer fixtures.
