CAFE Week of Action, FSGC promotes inclusion initiatives
FSGC will once again take part this year in the CAFE - Week of Action, focusing on initiatives that promote better accessibility to football facilities for disabled spectators. In this context, two full audio-descriptive commentaries (ADC) of the final matchday of the Campionato Sammarinese BKN301 will be produced and made available on TITANI.TV. The matches will be Fiorentino-Cosmos (Saturday, 15:00) and Virtus-Murata (Sunday, 15:00), and will be published during the week on the TITANI.TV platform. The product – using a technique specifically designed for blind supporters – will in this case be combined with video images, in order to raise awareness among sighted viewers. The Italian-language ADC commentary service is also always available at the San Marino Stadium, even for a single blind supporter who requests it, and is confirmed for San Marino–Northern Ireland next Thursday.
The work of raising awareness within the San Marino community, and beyond, also involves the engagement of the clubs taking part in the twenty-fifth matchday of the Campionato Sammarinese BKN301. The captains of the teams whose games will feature ADC commentary will enter the pitch displaying the CAFE - Week of Action banner, facing the spectators. The same banner will be displayed at San Marino Stadium by the captains of San Marino and Northern Ireland immediately after the end of the warm-up on 23 March.
The accessibility initiatives do not stop at stadium entry or on-site services, such as training a group of stewards in sign language (LIS) to provide the best possible support to deaf fans at international fixtures, but also extend to activities that enable active participation. With this in mind, and supported by scientific studies confirming its undeniable benefits, the Walking Football project was launched – promoted by FSGC and aimed primarily at over-50 patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Football is for everyone, and FSGC is always at the forefront to ensure that truly everyone can be part of it, without any kind of barrier.
