BKN301 Championship: Cosmos, Juvenes-Dogana and Pennarossa hit four
A thrilling, goal-filled Saturday opened the first matchday of the BKN301 Campionato Sammarinese. Cosmos, Juvenes-Dogana and Pennarossa all claimed victory over Murata, Fiorentino and San Giovanni respectively – each side scoring four times. There was plenty of curiosity at the Montecchio Stadium around the new-look Cosmos, after a summer packed with signings and fresh faces. Nicola Berardi’s team did not disappoint expectations and, with two goals in each half, beat Murata 4-1. In fact, Roberto Sarti’s black-and-whites went ahead on 18 minutes through a fine run and finish by Gega, but the yellow-greens levelled shortly after when Di Maio marked his debut with a thumping header from a corner (23’). Cosmos drove the game and on 42 minutes went in front thanks to a superb volley on the turn from Zulli. After the break Murata were reduced to nine men, with two players sent off by Estonian referee Külljastinen: Patregnani in the 49th minute for a second yellow, and Costantini on 67 minutes with a straight red. Cosmos made full use of their numerical advantage and pulled away thanks to Tommaso Guidi: first the young midfielder found the far corner from distance (69’), then he latched onto a pass from Savelli and, from inside the box, fired past Manzaroli to complete his brace and seal the yellow-greens’ four-goal haul – and the first three points of the season for the Serravalle club.
First win as well for Juvenes-Dogana, who brushed aside Fiorentino with a comprehensive 4-0. Manuel Amati’s side broke the deadlock on 11 minutes through Davide Merli, who found the net after good work by D’Angeli. The second goal was a stunner on 24 minutes: D’Angeli again turned provider in full assist-man mode, delivering into the middle for Benedetti, who acrobatically made it 2-0 with an overhead kick. Early in the second half Fiorentino had a chance to get back into it, but Castellazzi’s penalty on 53 minutes crashed against the crossbar. The Serravalle outfit kept their foot on the gas and, on 63 minutes, made it three: Merli picked out Michele Cevoli with a perfect pass; the central defender donned a centre-forward’s mantle and, with a delightful chip, beat Luca Bianchi. The fourth arrived on 78 minutes, again through Merli – among Juvenes-Dogana’s standout performers – with a first-time volley from the edge of the area that also earned him his personal brace.
Three points as well for Pennarossa, who defeated San Giovanni by the same scoreline (4-0). The afternoon did not begin in the best possible way for Marco Tognacci’s red-and-blacks, as on 19 minutes Senja turned the ball into his own net to hand the biancorossi the lead. Andrea Farabegoli’s side wrapped it up after the interval, largely thanks to a majestic Ben Kacem, who exploited his pace to the full and doubled the advantage on 71 minutes. Pennarossa then added a third a few minutes later, once again through the Moroccan forward, whose powerful strike left De Angelis with no chance (77’). The fourth goal was scored by Riccardo Mezzadri, who converted from a corner to make it 4-0.
