BKN301 Championship: ninth round kicks off tomorrow with no standout clashes

Getting the ninth matchday of the BKN301 Sammarinese Championship underway will be the meeting between Cailungo and Domagnano, to be played tomorrow at 15:00 in Acquaviva. Both sides come into this on the back of narrow defeats, albeit in different circumstances, and a win would allow either of them to move clear of the danger zone. Iencinella’s men were overturned 2-1 by Libertas after leading for most of the game. The Rossoverdi are looking for a reaction, but they know they are facing one of the form teams in the league. The Wolves, in fact, aside from last weekend’s loss – when they still held their own against leaders Virtus – had put together three consecutive wins. At the same time, at the “Crescentini” in Fiorentino, Folgore and Murata will face off. The side from the Castello di Serravalle are in a difficult spell: both in the league, with the heavy 4-1 defeat to Faetano, and with Wednesday night’s narrow loss to Tre Fiori in the Coppa Titano. So far, Lasagni’s men have had a stop-start campaign in terms of results. By contrast, the Bianconeri have rediscovered their smile, thanks to last Saturday’s manita against Pennarossa, which ended a short losing streak. Another victory would allow Angelini’s team to stay on the heels of the leading pack. Also at 15:00, Pennarossa and La Fiorita meet in Montecchio. The Biancorossi are still searching for their first points of the season, and they will be up against a far from straightforward opponent. Nobile’s side will also be without Othmane, suspended for two matches. On the other hand, Manfredini’s men want to continue their positive season: apart from the defeat against Virtus and the draw with Cosmos, the Gialloblu have always taken all three points (including in the Coppa Titano). For tomorrow’s match they will be without Danilo Rinaldi, sent off at the end of their last game against San Giovanni. Saturday’s programme then continues at 18:15 with the clash between San Marino Academy and Tre Fiori. Cecchetti’s men will take to the pitch still smarting after the topsy-turvy defeat to Fiorentino, where yet another comeback from the Titani was not enough. On the other side, the team from the Castello di Fiorentino, after losing on the opening day, have put together no fewer than ten consecutive positive results in both league and Coppa Titano. In their last two league outings they have also scored ten goals – conceding just one – inspired by an unstoppable Cecconi, who has moved to the top of the scoring charts with nine goals in eight games. At the same time, Tre Penne and Fiorentino will also meet. Ceci’s men are one of only two sides (the other being Virtus) to remain unbeaten in the league, with six wins and just two draws. Another three points here would allow them to keep pace with leaders Virtus. Camillini’s side have put a difficult spell behind them thanks to victory in their last league outing and a creditable defeat in Wednesday night’s cup tie against La Fiorita. In both matches they were dragged forward by Niang’s moments of brilliance. They have everything it takes to trip up the Biancazzurri. Sunday’s late fixtures, all scheduled for 15:00, will be opened by the meeting between league leaders Virtus and Faetano. As mentioned, the team from the Castello di Acquaviva sit top with a 100% record, having won every game this season in all competitions. They have no intention of stopping. Standing in their way will be a Faetano side buoyed by victory last time out, a 4-1 success over Folgore inspired by a Brisigotti brace. For Sunday’s clash Pellegrino’s men will be without Ndao, suspended for one match by the sports judge for accumulated bookings. At the same time in Fiorentino, the derby of the Castello di Serravalle will take centre stage: Juvenes-Dogana and Cosmos will battle it out. The Biancorossoazzurri suffered a heavy setback in the previous round with a 5-1 defeat to Tre Fiori, bringing to an end a three-match unbeaten run. On the other side, Berardi’s men are looking to give fresh impetus to a season that has so far fallen short of expectations, with the team 13 points off the top and already out of the Coppa Titano at the last-16 stage. For them a win is a must, both for the table and for morale. The final match of the ninth round will feature another derby, the Castello di Borgo Maggiore showdown between Libertas and San Giovanni. Just a single point separates the two in the standings, in Libertas’ favour. In the league the Granata come into this on the back of a convincing win in the other local derby against Cailungo and, more generally, three consecutive positive results. Sperindio’s men are clearly on an upward curve after a less than ideal start. San Giovanni too have had a season of highs and lows, but a win here would allow them to leapfrog their city rivals. Here is the full schedule for the ninth matchday of the BKN301 Sammarinese Championship, which will all be broadcast live and free to stream on Titani.tv (Italian commentary):
