BKN301 Championship: Folgore-La Fiorita opens Matchday Two live on Titani.tv
It will be the last two national champions who inaugurate the second round of the BKN301 Campionato Sammarinese. Folgore and La Fiorita will face off in Friday night’s curtain-raiser at the Federico Crescentini Stadium in Fiorentino. The Falciano club are coming off a goalless draw with Libertas, thanks in part to an excellent display from summer signing Pollini. La Fiorita, on the other hand, have already collected their first three points of the season, bouncing back from defeat in the Supercoppa Sammarinese with goals from Bartolini and Amati in a 2-0 win over Cailungo. The match, like all those scheduled at the weekend, will be streamed live for free on Titani.tv.
Cailungo themselves will also be on show in Fiorentino the following day, when they will usher in Tre Penne’s league campaign. Ceci’s men sat out last weekend and are eager to respond on the pitch to their direct title rivals. Matteo Ferrari is a definite absentee after being sent off on his seasonal debut.
Faetano and Libertas will both be hunting their first league win. The Gialloblù – who will wear black armbands to mourn the passing of a loved one of a Board member – are coming off a heavy defeat to Tre Fiori. The Borgo Maggiore club, by contrast, are fresh from a good performance against Folgore in which Cardini’s men paid for their lack of cutting edge in front of goal. The clash will be played on Saturday in Acquaviva (15:00).
No such scoring problems for Juvenes-Dogana, who hit four in their opener against Fiorentino (who will be on a bye this weekend). Davide Merli was the star of the show with two goals and an assist, but it was the collective performance of Amati’s side that really caught the eye. Up against a Domagnano side keen to bounce back from their narrow defeat to Virtus, a thrilling encounter is in prospect in Domagnano (Saturday, 15:00).
The same goes for Sunday’s headline fixture between Virtus and Tre Fiori. Both started with a win and are seeking further confirmation against opposition of similar stature. The Neroverdi’s famed defensive organisation, with Sorrentino once again installed as the preferred focal point up front, will be tested by Tre Fiori: in the yellow and blue half of the Castello di Fiorentino, attacking intent has long been the dominant trait. The 4-0 victory over Faetano last Sunday is the most recent and resounding example. The match will be played in Montecchio, Sunday at 15:00.
Murata, meanwhile, will have to cope without two suspended players: midfielder Patregnani and defender Costantini must both sit out Sunday’s meeting with Pennarossa (Fiorentino, 15:00) after receiving red cards on the opening day. Costantini has been given a two-match ban and will only return after the international break. Farabegoli’s men, for their part, will be aiming to reproduce their impressive and convincing opening win over San Giovanni.
The Rossoneri will in fact wrap up Sunday’s schedule when they lock horns with Cosmos (Domagnano, 15:00). The revamped Serravalle club, who were rampant on their debut with goals from former La Fiorita players Guidi, Di Maio and Zulli, intend to confirm their status as contenders on the pitch as well, after a transfer window of the highest level.
