League: Cosmos and Tre Fiori flawless as snow halts La Fiorita

The first matchday of the second half of the BKN301 Campionato Sammarinese season was heavily affected by the abundant snowfall that has been hitting the higher part of the Titan since yesterday. The clash between Cailungo and league leaders La Fiorita has in fact been postponed to a date yet to be confirmed, having initially been scheduled for this afternoon at the Fiorentino ground. The only matches played as scheduled were Murata-Cosmos – staged yesterday evening in Dogana – and Tre Fiori-Faetano at 15:00 in Acquaviva. In chronological order, Nicola Berardi’s side did not slip up and claimed three important points to temporarily move top of the table. The Gialloverdi ran out 3-2 winners over a Murata side that woke up too late. Cosmos started strongly and broke the deadlock after a quarter of an hour through Lorenzo Nisi, who headed home well after Prandelli’s assist. The Gialloverdi striker struck again on the half-hour mark, doubling the lead once more with a header after a pinpoint cross from the left by Zulli. Cosmos’ third arrived after the break and again bore the signature of Prandelli, increasingly the league’s top scorer with 10 goals, who made the most of Pastorelli’s perfect cross and once more beat Terenzi with an unstoppable header. Murata, however, as mentioned, reacted too late: in the 84th minute Ura pulled one back after a good pass from Comuniello, and a few minutes later Ferrario also found the net to make it 2-3. But it was not enough for the Bianconeri to avoid yet another defeat. A precious victory also for Tre Fiori, who this afternoon edged past Faetano by a single goal. Andy Selva’s side took the lead just before the quarter-hour mark when Gjurchinoski unleashed a powerful long-range effort that caught Porcellini out. Faetano did not give up and, shortly after the half-hour, found the equaliser thanks to Gatti, who latched onto a pass from team-mate Composto and beat Semprini from inside the box. In the second half Tre Fiori pressed in search of a new lead and found it in the 69th minute, when De Falco went down in the area after contact with Porcellini: the referee pointed to the spot, and the Gialloblu captain himself converted for a crucial 2-1. Tre Fiori thus win and stay right on the heels of Cosmos. Two more early fixtures are scheduled for this evening: Virtus-Domagnano will kick off at 18:30 in Acquaviva, while Folgore-Libertas is set to be played in Dogana at the same time.
