Futsal Championship: Fiorentino take derby thanks to brace from former player Rossini

Fiorentino draw level with Folgore at the top, winning the late big match against local rivals Tre Fiori. Last night saw the derby of the Castello di Fiorentino, played moreover at the very same venue used by both clubs. And, as if the similarities were not enough, it was even a former Tre Fiori player who tipped the balance: Nicolas Rossini, in his first season in Rossoblù after three years with Tre Fiori, punished his old team-mates at the first real opportunity. A brace at the end of the first half, specifically in the 24th minute and at 30'+1. Bugli’s men were unable to find the goal that could have reopened the contest in the second half. For Michelotti’s Fiorentino, without Busignani, there was also the satisfaction of a clean sheet: Protti unbeaten, beaten only once in three matches so far. In the table, behind the leading pair Fiorentino-Folgore, who have both won all their games so far, come Virtus and Faetano on seven points apiece. Tre Fiori suffer their first setback of the league campaign and remain on four points together with Murata and Domagnano. Just ahead are La Fiorita (5) and Juvenes-Dogana (6 points, but with a game in hand on the leading duo). Here is the full picture from Matchday 6 of the 2022-23 Campionato Sammarinese di futsal.
