Championship: time for the second legs of the play-off quarter-finals
In just over forty-eight hours we will know the four semi-finalists of the BKN301 Sammarinese Championship play-offs, which offer at least one place in the next UEFA Conference League. That could even become two if Virtus were also to triumph in the final of the BKN301 Coppa Titano, effectively unlocking an additional European slot via the league route: in that case, both play-off finalists would book their ticket for Europe. Hence the scheduling of the cup final as the very last match of the season.
The first two semi-finalists will be known tomorrow evening and will come from the ties Murata-Tre Fiori and San Giovanni-Cosmos. In Montecchio, De Falco’s team faces Grassi’s side – the latter having recently taken over from Angelini, after Angelini joined Bisoli’s staff at Modena in Serie B. The first leg ended in a goalless draw, which puts Murata in a position to be able to rely on another draw to reach the semi-finals. This is by virtue of their better placing in the regular season compared to their rivals. Tre Fiori, who have never scored against the Bianconeri in the three previous meetings, will have to win at all costs to secure a place among the last four in the post-season and earn the chance to face the winners of Folgore-La Fiorita.
San Giovanni go into the second leg with the advantage of a narrow win in the first match. Tognacci’s side, the revelation of the season, would reach the semi-finals even with a draw against Cosmos. On the other hand, the better placing achieved by the Gialloverdi over the thirty regular season matchdays ensures that they too would go through with even a one-goal victory.
Tre Penne already have one foot in the semi-finals, having yesterday swept aside Juvenes-Dogana 3-0. Amati’s men would now need to win by four clear goals to overturn the club from Città, while in the other tie – between Folgore and La Fiorita – Guidi’s strike in the first leg means the Giallorossoneri must win by at least two goals to avoid elimination.
Here is the schedule for the second legs of the quarter-finals of the 2023-24 BKN301 Sammarinese Championship. All matches will be broadcast live and free to air via streaming on TITANI.TV, with Italian commentary:
