League: Domagnano v La Fiorita worth more than third place

The third-from-last matchday of the first half of the 2025-26 Campionato Sammarinese offers up crucial points, especially in the race for playoff places – not to mention Sunday’s big match between La Fiorita and Domagnano.

In Saturday’s early fixtures, all kicking off at 15:00, Faetano v Fiorentino will involve two sides sitting right on the threshold of the zone that guarantees access to the post-season. As things stand, one of Gialloblù and Libertas would miss out, while Fiorentino are four points ahead of both. A win for Costantini’s team would therefore help to consolidate and extend that cushion – also bearing in mind the task facing the Granata from Borgo Maggiore, who are simultaneously up against league leaders Tre Fiori. Girolomoni’s side will take to the pitch at the “Federico Crescentini” Stadium in Fiorentino, where they will be chasing a tenth win in thirteen league games. It is an objective they share with Virtus – their closest pursuers, just one point behind. For the reigning champions, the obstacle comes in the shape of Murata, who in midweek Coppa Titano action showed they can cause problems for a top side like La Fiorita.

San Marino Academy will also be in action on Saturday, looking to get back to picking up points against San Giovanni. While the Rossoneri have won only once so far, they are still just four points off the playoff zone; Roberto Di Maio’s young Biancazzurrini, meanwhile, are still chasing their first league victory. The hope for the Under-22 team, made up almost entirely of Sammarinese players, is to achieve that on Saturday afternoon. On the other side, Tognacci’s men certainly did not deserve to lose in the previous round against La Fiorita and will want to confirm the progress they have shown by celebrating another three points together. The intriguing clash in Montecchio – in addition to TITANI.tv – will also be available on FIFA+, live and free to stream.

Among Sunday’s later kick-offs, La Fiorita v Domagnano stands out, scheduled for 15:00 at the Acquaviva Stadium. Even without their points deduction, the Montegiardino club would still be behind the Lupi – a sign of the excellent form Amati’s team are currently enjoying. Up next is a genuine maturity test if they are to stay with the breakaway duo – who in any case are no more than three points ahead of the Giallorossi. It will be a meeting between the league’s best attack (La Fiorita, 32 goals) and the best defence (Domagnano, 5 conceded), a match high in technical and competitive content which, over the years, has rarely been dull. The same can be said of the Serravalle derby between Folgore and Juvenes-Dogana: the Biancorossazzurri are fresh from an exhilarating qualification for the Coppa Titano semi-finals at the expense of heavyweights Tre Penne. On the opposite side they will find a fired-up Folgore, coming off back-to-back defeats and with just two points from their last four outings. It is therefore reasonable to expect a reaction from Oscar Lasagni’s men, even if they will have to do without Pancotti, suspended for two matches.

Pennarossa, for their part, take on Cosmos. Ricchiuti and Selva’s sides are going through similar runs of form in appearance, but different in substance. Although unbeaten in their last five, the Gialloverdi have drawn three times against teams that were clearly within their reach. By contrast, the Biancorossi – despite losing to La Fiorita in the same period – have picked up one point more than their next opponents, winning three of the four direct clashes recently handed to them by the fixture list. Finally, Tre Penne are out to bounce back after midweek disappointment: standing in the way of Bonini’s team, beaten in the league by Virtus last week, will be Cailungo. The Rossoverdi welcome back two starting defenders in Quaranta and Iuzzolino and are braced for a ninety-minute battle. Against Cosmos, Benedetti’s side had already shown they have the tools to trouble technically superior opponents, but rediscovering their feeling for goal is a must if they are to do so.
