League: Tre Fiori vs Virtus worth a slice of the title

After going head to head from a distance and finding themselves level at the top of the table, tomorrow Tre Fiori and Virtus will face off in Acquaviva (15:00) in a showdown that could be decisive in the title race. All eyes will be on the big match of the 25th matchday of the Campionato Sammarinese between the Neroverdi and the Gialloblù, in the second of three meetings between them this March. Following the goalless first leg of the cup semi-final on 4 March, the two powerhouses will do battle in the league before completing the trilogy in the Coppa Titano second leg scheduled for next Wednesday.

Reigning champions Virtus have fared slightly better than their rivals in recent outings and have not lost since 29 November against Domagnano, while Tre Fiori have bounced back after the defeat to Tre Penne on 22 February. It will also be a duel between strikers, with Prandelli (16 goals) up against Scappini (14), both ready to try and breach the two best defences in the league (11 goals conceded each). The last five league meetings between the sides have gone Virtus’ way (3 wins and 2 draws), while Tre Fiori’s most recent victory dates back to September 2022, a season in which the title went to Tre Penne. Chasing the leaders are precisely the team from Cittàonly three points off the summit – who will look to capitalise on the top-of-the-table clash to close the gap and strengthen their own title ambitions. Bonini’s Biancoazzurri will be in action on Sunday at 15:00 in Dogana against a Murata side still bottom of the table. Returning to Saturday’s schedule, there are two other fixtures, both at 15:00. In Fiorentino it’s Faetano vs Juvenes Dogana, a match of great significance for the Gialloblù. Sperindio’s side are currently out of the post-season, but a win would move them closer to 11th place – currently five points away. Juvenes Dogana are in a calmer position but, like Faetano, come into this on the back of four straight defeats, with Boldrini potentially rotating his squad ahead of Wednesday’s cup semi-final second leg against La Fiorita. Ceci and his men could do likewise tomorrow afternoon in the Montecchio clash (15:00) with Pennarossa. Macerata’s Biancorossi are seeking points to move closer to the play-off zone – only three points away – and are targeting a win that has eluded them since as far back as 7 December. La Fiorita are firmly in fifth place and unbeaten in four games.

Five games are scheduled for Sunday, all kicking off at 15:00. Besides the aforementioned Murata vs Tre Penne, Folgore vs San Giovanni is also one to watch. Despite their distance in the standings, the Acquaviva clash pits two in-form sides against each other: Lasagni’s team are fourth, driven by the goals of Augusto Garcia Rufer (second-top scorer with 16 goals) and unbeaten in seven; Tognacci’s Rossoneri, meanwhile, have collected 10 points from their last four matches and must defend 11th place – the last spot granting access to the play-offs. Fiorentino, currently seventh, will be looking to continue climbing. Costantini’s side have won three of their last five and on Sunday travel to Montecchio to face a Cailungo team in poor form (four consecutive defeats). The match will be available to watch live – in addition to Titani.tv – also on FIFA+. Sunday will also see San Marino Academy and Domagnano in action (Fiorentino, 15:00). Di Maio’s Titani are coming off an excellent win in the last round against Faetano and are in a good run of form. Amati’s Giallorossi are solid in sixth place, with top scorer Bonetti (20 goals) always ready to strike. Rounding off Sunday’s slate is the Domagnano showdown between Libertas and Cosmos. Selva’s Gialloverdi were overtaken by Fiorentino in the last round and now sit eighth, while Buda’s Granata – one place below and seven points adrift – return to the pitch after their narrow victory over Pennarossa.
