Coppa Titano BKN301: first-leg semi-finals tomorrow, live on Titani.TV

Since mid-December, just four sides remain in the hunt for the Coppa Titano BKN301. One of Libertas, Tre Penne, Folgore and Virtus will be the team to succeed reigning champions Tre Fiori, knocked out in the quarter-finals by Virtus, who had already claimed another major scalp in Cosmos. La Fiorita – recently dislodged from the top of the Single Group in the league, but with one game in hand on their direct rivals, Tre Penne excluded – saw their cup run ended by Libertas, who needed only a one-goal margin to get the better of Montegiardino, having previously eased past Domagnano far more convincingly in the Round of 16. Folgore, for their part, added San Giovanni and Murata to their tally: the Giallorossoneri are not enjoying an ideal situation in the league and it is easy to imagine that their thoughts are firmly focused on the cup, a competition with a more "compact" format and, in its own right, highly attractive, not least for its European prospects. In short, a cure-all for seasons that are not particularly sparkling. Finally, Tre Penne, who are laboriously trying to claw their way back towards the top of the Single Group but have no intention of giving up their ambitions in the second national competition. Stefano Ceci and his players come into these semi-finals having knocked out, in order, Pennarossa and Juvenes-Dogana. Tomorrow they face Libertas in a first-leg tie that has recently seen a change of venue: no longer the pitch at Montecchio, still covered in snow, but that of Dogana. Virtus and Folgore will instead face off in Acquaviva. Kick-off time remains unchanged. At 20:45, on both pitches, the first act will get underway in a tie where the margin for error has not yet been reduced to zero – there is still the "parachute" of the second leg – but is certainly not particularly large.
