Coppa Titano and BKN301 Championship: final and post-season dates confirmed
With the finalists already known, the date on which the BKN301 Titano Cup will be awarded is now official as well. On Saturday 27 May at the Acquaviva Stadium, with kick-off at 20:45, Virtus and Tre Penne will contest the oldest trophy in San Marino football. The club from Città are chasing a seventh triumph, the last of which came on 26 April 2017 against La Fiorita. At the San Marino Stadium it finished 2-0 thanks to goals from Simoncelli and Calzolari. For the Neroverdi, on the other hand, it would be their first ever victory in the competition.
The BKN301 Titano Cup final, as well as the full play-off campaign that will award a place in the UEFA Europa Conference League, will be broadcast live and free on TITANI.TV. Turning to the BKN301 Campionato Sammarinese, there are still five matchdays remaining in the regular season, at the end of which the league title will be decided. The final round is scheduled for the weekend of 22-23 April, after which the ten teams finishing behind the national champions will begin their play-off campaign.
The clubs finishing the regular season between second and seventh place will be guaranteed a spot in the main bracket, while the remaining four teams will have to go through a single-leg Preliminary Round to determine the other two play-off participants. These matches will be played on Wednesday 26 April at the Acquaviva and Montecchio facilities, kicking off at 20:45, with the higher-ranked team progressing in the event of a draw at the end of normal time.
At that point the pairings in the main bracket will be confirmed, with the higher-ranked of the two sides coming through the play-off (based on the standings at the end of the regular season) facing the team that finished third, while the other will take on the runners-up in the BKN301 Campionato Sammarinese. The teams finishing fourth and fifth in the regular season will already know they are set to face, respectively, the sides that finished seventh and sixth. It is worth remembering that the quarter-finals and semi-finals will be played over two legs, with no possibility of extra time or penalties. If the aggregate score is level at the end of normal time in the second leg, the team with the higher position at the end of the regular season will advance. The quarter-finals will be played between 29 April and 3 May.
The quarter-final bracket will feature four seeded teams – ensuring that the second- and third-placed sides can only meet in a possible play-off final. The semi-final pairings will match the winners of the ties indicated in the table as A-B and C-D. The first legs will be played on the weekend of 6-7 May, with the return legs scheduled one week later, on 13-14 May.
The two finals will instead be played on the penultimate weekend of May. The match that will determine the winners of the BKN301 Campionato Sammarinese play-offs, guaranteeing access to the 2023-24 UEFA Europa Conference League Preliminary Round, is scheduled for Saturday 20 May in Acquaviva with kick-off at 20:45. The previous evening, at the same venue and at the same time, it will be the turn of the teams defeated in the two-legged semi-finals.
