European Cups: Rondelli and Ascari appointed as Champions League Delegates

Paolo Rondelli and Cristiano Ascari have been appointed by UEFA as Match Delegates for two second-leg ties in the First Qualifying Round of the Champions League. The first assignment on the schedule is in Moldova this evening at 19:00. At the Sheriff Stadion in Tiraspol, hosts Sheriff will take on Farul Constanța. The Romanian champions, coached by legend Gheorghe Hagi – who a few years ago founded the club in his hometown – will try to build on their narrow first-leg win (1-0). Overseeing the match as UEFA Delegate will be Cristiano Ascari. The fixture entrusted to Paolo Rondelli is set for tomorrow evening in Northern Ireland. The experienced UEFA Delegate will be on duty at Solitude Stadium in Belfast, where Larne will look to harness the backing of their supporters to overturn the result from the first leg in Helsinki. In Finland, in fact, HJK claimed a 1-0 victory. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 CEST.
