Women’s football: Arcangeli and Piva at UEFA Women’s National Teams Conference

The UEFA Women's National Team Coaches Conference has reached its fourth edition, opening the doors of St. George's Park in Birmingham – the English FA’s national training centre – for a day full of insights on women’s national teams, bringing together the Head Coaches and Technical Directors of all UEFA member associations. Representing San Marino at the event were Gionata Arcangeli and Giacomo Piva, respectively coordinator of the Sammarinese girls’ youth sector and head coach of the San Marino Academy Under-15 side. Among the many presentations, particular mention should be made of that given by Sarina Wiegman. Having led England to the European title at the most recent edition of the continental tournament, the Dutch coach captured the audience’s attention, offering interesting ideas even for those – like San Marino – who do not yet have a women’s national team, although plans are in place to establish one in the coming years.
