Women’s: Under-16 National Team to face Italy’s Calcio+15 Selection in friendly
The build-up to April’s historic debut in the UEFA Development Tournament includes a stop of the highest prestige for the experimental Women’s Under-16 National Team. The very young Titane coached by Giacomo Piva will be at the Olympic Preparation Centre in Tirrenia on 7 March at 14:30 to play a friendly against Italy’s Calcio+15 Selection, created from the Calcio+15 project promoted by the Youth and School Sector of the FIGC together with Club Italia. Over the years this project has seen the exponential growth of many young prospects in Italian football, including Chiara Beccari, who started out in San Marino and, no more than six months ago, went on to feature at the World Cup in New Zealand. The match will be played in three 30-minute periods and will offer the Under-16 National Team a hugely valuable opportunity to assess the progress made so far and to gain significant experience – off the pitch as well, since this will be the girls’ first time in a short training camp – on the road leading to the home UEFA Development Tournament.
