Football Is Inclusion: first away-day experience for participating youngsters

The “Football Is Inclusion” project, promoted by the San Marino Football Federation with the stated aim of breaking down socio-cultural barriers that underpin inequality and exclusion in sport as in life, has reached another major milestone. Last Saturday, 13 May 2023, boys and girls with cognitive-relational disabilities involved in the project, together with young male and female players from the San Marino Academy and grassroots Football Hubs, enjoyed their first experience outside the territory. Hosted by Around Sport, they took part in challenges both outdoors and in the gym, all focused on physical activity where integrated football naturally took centre stage, but above all in full respect of fairness and equality. The “Football Is Inclusion” project is run in collaboration with UEFA, and this recent trip follows on from the first friendly match, organised last November at the “Federico Crescentini” stadium in Fiorentino.
