In the final days of last September, a further meeting was held on the UEFA Kit Assistance Scheme, the second together with Erreà, attended by the technical supplier appointed by UEFA and delegations from the European football associations participating in the programme. In addition to the San Marino delegation – made up of Head of International Projects Andrea Zoppis and kit managers Tiziano Giacobbi, Daniele Golinucci and William Cecchetti – nine other UEFA member associations were represented (Andorra, Belarus, Cyprus, Faroe Islands, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta), together with Azerbaijan, which took part as an interested observer.
The Kit Assistance Scheme is the programme through which UEFA supports smaller football associations with technical equipment, appointing a single supplier that provides its products and expertise for the creation of the official National Team kits and the related presentation wear. Each UEFA member association may apply to join this project and receive the corresponding contribution, which is then converted into technical equipment.
Following presentations by Erreà and UEFA on innovations for the upcoming international two-year cycle, including the use of materials for shirt production with an almost zero Carbon Footprint, the individual delegations had the opportunity to work side by side with the expert designers from the Parma-based company on the development and design of the National Team kits for the 2024-26 period. They also defined the preferred guidelines for the various associated kits, featuring new and intriguing ideas that combine tradition and innovation. The new shirts will be unveiled next spring and will be worn from June 2024 by the San Marino National Team and Under-21 side.
