FSGC and San Marino United Artists: initiatives to raise awareness against gender-based violence on International Women’s Day weekend

Over the weekend of 7-8 March 2026, coinciding with Matchday 24 of the 2025-26 Campionato Sammarinese, the San Marino Football Federation and San Marino United Artists will continue their ongoing awareness campaign against gender-based violence. This issue is increasingly topical, and the aim is to give it even greater visibility and impact on the weekend that will also mark International Women’s Day. On 25 November last year, under the artistic direction and production of the San Marino band MIODIO, the song “Quasi invisibile” was released and later performed at the most recent FSGC Christmas Gala. Sung by several female voices from the San Marino music scene, the track aims to shine a spotlight on a theme – gender-based violence – that, sadly, features with growing frequency in news reports. It is a musical work capable of striking a chord with anyone who listens, even for the first time, thanks both to the universal relevance of its message and to the unquestionable technical and vocal quality of the performers – acclaimed both in San Marino and beyond its borders.

The shared goal of raising public awareness – not only among sports or football audiences – on this crucial issue has led FSGC and San Marino United Artists to launch an awareness campaign that will also involve clubs, fans and competitions organised by the San Marino Football Federation. In the run-up to Matchday 24 of the Campionato Sammarinese, six dolls have been created – with blue hair and a white dress, in tribute to the colours of the Republic, and red shoes, a universally recognised symbol associated with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. This figure, designed to become a recognisable icon of the campaign, will be brought onto the pitch before every match, showcasing the commitment of San Marino football and signalling – physically and, subsequently, digitally – its intention to play an active role on this issue. Affiliated clubs will also receive from the FSGC a number of keyrings featuring a miniature of the doll and engraved with a QR code directly linked to the song “Quasi invisibile”, which was released on YouTube just over three months ago. With the support and cooperation of everyone involved in this awareness campaign, San Marino football hopes to contribute to building a better society, one in which episodes of gender-based violence are consigned to the past.
