Futsal, league: Tre Fiori defeat Juvenes and climb back to third, Virtus slip up

Virtus fall to Pennarossa and once again surrender their podium place to Tre Fiori, who come out on top in the head-to-head with Juvenes-Dogana. It’s an authoritative performance from Bugli’s men, who see off their rivals 7-2. As has often been the case in recent times, the most inspired player in yellow and blue is Paolo Verri: the number 7 opens the scoring and crowns his evening with a hat-trick. Mariotti doubles Tre Fiori’s lead, and after going into the break 2-0 up they turn the screw through Crescentini and Verri again, before conceding Juvenes-Dogana’s first goal, scored by Muraro. Boschi, Gasperoni and once more Verri stretch the cushion for the Fiorentino side who, in the end, concede Bacciocchi’s goal, completely harmless in terms of their fresh return to the podium, while Juvenes-Dogana, unbeaten in their previous three, are forced down to seventh place, behind Domagnano and La Fiorita. Ahead of the Biancorossoazzurri there is also Virtus, who lose – somewhat unexpectedly – to Pennarossa. The side from Chiesanuova go two goals down but then find a huge reaction. Just before half-time Bucci puts Virtus in front, and they then double their lead midway through the second half with Paolo Casadei. From there, it’s a different game. Brighi quickly pulls one back for Pennarossa, who then see Podeschi hit the target twice – the second time from a 10-metre free-kick – to secure back-to-back wins. And it matters little that the same Podeschi had missed another 10-metre free-kick before making it 3-2. The Biancorossi move up to 16 points and can start looking towards the upper half of the Single Group table. Also rising in that area is La Fiorita, who make it two wins in a row at Murata’s expense. The verdict in Acquaviva is clear and unequivocal, but is shaped entirely after the interval. Gennari breaks the deadlock and is then joined on the scoresheet by Belloni and twice by Giuccioli. On the up too are Domagnano, who with an 8-1 win over Cosmos leapfrog Juvenes-Dogana and draw level with Virtus in fourth place. The Wolves’ return to winning ways comes in a comeback: it was Cosmos who struck first after 5 minutes through Mauri. Cavalli levels before the quarter-hour, while Gracik completes the turnaround on 28 minutes. In the second half it takes until the quarter-hour mark for the scoreline to change again: Morri makes it 3-1 and from there Domagnano run riot. Santarini (brace), Dolcini and Gracik with two more score in quick succession. Plenty of goals, though with a smaller margin, also between Libertas and Tre Penne. The Granata return to winning ways after three defeats and move above Cosmos in the table. Francesco Rossi’s brace plus goals from Ercolani and Taddei open up a first gap between the two sides. Tre Penne attempt a comeback through Contato’s brace, but Conti’s own goal restores Libertas’ safety margin, and in the end they can concede Francesconi’s goal without consequence. At the top, Fiorentino maintain their perfect record by sweeping aside San Giovanni 6-1. Casali is the only scorer for the Rossoneri. By then, however, Fiorentino were already 4-0 up thanks to Carlini’s brace and goals from Maiani and Moretti. Zafferani and Rossini then complete the Rossoblù tally. Tonight it will be Folgore’s turn to try to match them in the late kick-off against Faetano.
