Futsal: Titano Futsal Cup kicks off tomorrow with several fixtures already seen this season

First week with a double commitment for San Marino futsal clubs. After the exertions of Matchday 3 in the league, thirteen teams are set to return to the court immediately for the first legs of the Titano Futsal Cup Round of 16. Not included in this group are Fiorentino, who have no fixture tomorrow as defending champions (and therefore already through to the quarter-finals), and Tre Fiori, who did not play in last Monday’s league round as they were on a bye. Bugli’s side will therefore be able to count on a little extra energy compared to their opponents on the night, namely Faetano, who are still searching for their first positive result of the season. They play in Dogana, where at 21:45 Murata and Virtus will also face off. These two sides have already met this season, specifically on the opening day of the league, when it was the Bianconeri who came out on top. So far Cellarosi’s men have enjoyed a perfect run – three wins from three – but Virtus are in good shape too, because since that initial defeat they have recorded two victories on the spin. Whoever emerges victorious from this two-legged tie (the return fixtures will be played on 9 November) will take on the winner of Tre Fiori vs Faetano. La Fiorita, too, after losing their opener, have put together two wins in a row. Tomorrow the Montegiardino side will face Tre Penne, with the clear aim of extending this positive spell, while the team from Città are looking for their first joy of the season after three league defeats. On the benches it will be a clash between very recent former colleagues: on one side Gianni Galli, on the other Davide Elia Ghiotti. Whoever comes through the tie will meet the winner of Pennarossa vs Juvenes-Dogana. The second match of the evening, again in Domagnano, will be a replay of what the schedule offered just two days ago. On Matchday 3 in fact Cosmos and Folgore met; tomorrow they do so again. Federico Muccioli will be hoping for a very different outcome from the recent one – Folgore ran out 7-0 winners – while Claudio Zonzini can only wish for a derby identical in every respect to the one just played, in order to all but seal progress in a tie that will see one of the two "Serravalle" sides face the winner of another derby, Libertas vs Cailungo. The two "Borgo Maggiore" clubs will close out the evening programme in Fiorentino. On one side will be the challengers – Libertas – still on zero points in the league and therefore more than ever eager – and in some respects in need – of redemption; on the other a Cailungo who started the campaign poorly but who have been lifted by the enthusiasm generated a couple of days ago by their victory over San Giovanni. The first tie in Fiorentino is among those already seen this season. San Giovanni and Domagnano met on the opening day of the league, with the Wolves winning 2-0. However, that is where their run stopped: since then they have suffered two defeats which require urgent remedy, all the more so with an important prize at stake such as a place in the next round – something that coach Gasperoni and his players will certainly try to steer their way right from the first leg. On the other side, a very young and enthusiastic San Giovanni, who also need to get going after three defeats in as many outings. The winners will face none other than the reigning champions Fiorentino. The fourth venue in use will be the indoor court at the Acquaviva Gym. Here the contenders will be Pennarossa and Juvenes-Dogana, meeting for the first time this season. The Biancorossoazzurri can only aim to extend the winning streak (two out of two) they have put together in the league, while the Biancorossi need to rekindle the sensations of their league debut, when they beat Faetano, a result followed by two defeats against Murata and La Fiorita. Kick-off is at 21:15. This is the Round of 16 schedule:
