Futsal, Tre Fiori celebrate: late blow for Tre Penne, out of the Fab Four

Tre Penne suffer back-to-back defeats and officially wave goodbye to their bid for fourth place. What proves fatal for Penserini’s men is a glaring lack of ruthlessness over the course of a match packed with chances, very few of which are actually taken. Tre Fiori, by contrast, are clinical in the extreme and, thanks to a stoppage‑time winner, reclaim eighth spot, responding to the charge launched just 24 hours earlier by their “cousins” Fiorentino. Tre Penne immediately try to swing the Multieventi Monday night fixture their way. On a two‑on‑one counter‑attack led by Ercolani, Cola finishes with a toe‑poke that goes just centimetres wide of the far post. Cola is then decisive at the other end, denying Tamagnini, who looks certain to score as he exploits Tre Penne’s poor positioning at a throw‑in. He is every bit as decisive as Lonfernini at the other end on deflected efforts – and therefore dripping with venom – first from Sabatino and then from Cola. The pressure from the sky‑blue‑and‑white side pays off in the 12th minute, when Cola robs Crescentini of the ball and, one‑on‑one with Lonfernini, keeps his cool. There’s a similar pattern in the other half of the court: Michelotti snaps into a challenge on Contato and then hurries his shot, which Casadei saves with his feet. Sabatino and Beinat both threaten a second goal, but only find the side‑netting from wide positions. Tamagnini stings Casadei’s palms with a fierce right‑footer and then, on the ensuing break, Beinat puts a chance on a plate for Ercolani, who can only rattle the post from point‑blank range. Cola also comes close, hitting the outside of the woodwork with an estirada on Marcattili’s assist. That big opportunity brings the first half to a close.

The second period opens with an ill‑advised foray upcourt with ball at feet by Lonfernini, who mismanages possession badly and gifts Ercolani an open goal: a present the Tre Penne player fails to unwrap. Shortly afterwards, Sabatino gives his team‑mate a chance to make amends: the pass is sublime, but once again the stretching finish is off target. Tre Fiori reply with a break finished by a toe‑poke from Podeschi, which does not catch Casadei out. The same fate befalls Cola’s low drive from a corner routine. A costly turnover from Maiani allows Ercolani another sight of goal, but this time Lonfernini does brilliantly to keep out the close‑range effort. Ercolani is back in the spotlight a few minutes later when he leaves Maiani in his wake and shoots across goal, missing the 2-0 by a matter of centimetres. Tre Fiori survive this spell and, on their first real push up the court, they strike. Maiani shoots from the left flank and the ball strikes Podeschi, who is lightning‑quick to turn it past Casadei. The same Podeschi almost undoes his good work when he is robbed by Gamba on the left side, but Lonfernini covers his near post to tidy up. Casadei tries to lend a hand in the Tre Fiori half, but his poor use of the ball hands Crescentini the chance to shoot first time, which he misses by a fraction. At the other end, Gamba lights up the court with a delicious assist for Contato, who arrives at full stretch but blazes over with only Lonfernini to beat. Gamba is then guilty of a lapse that lets Antonelli shoot again towards an unguarded goal, with Casadei stranded: the post comes to Tre Penne’s rescue. Tre Fiori threaten once more through a driving run from Crescentini and his ensuing shot, which Casadei deals with. Tre Penne’s reply is a diagonal effort from Cola, just wide. A terrible loss of possession by Michelotti in the danger area opens up another big chance for Cola, denied by a superb Lonfernini save. On the very next defensive error, however, Tre Fiori pay the price. This time it is Antonelli who is too casual: Cola pounces on the loose ball and wisely lays it off to the unmarked Ercolani, who finishes first time and finally makes peace with the goal. Tre Fiori’s response is full of character. Giorgini goes for the top corner and wins a corner, which is delivered to Michelotti, who opens up his left foot and crashes the ball into the back of the net. Ercolani knocks on Lonfernini’s door again, but with far less conviction than before: the keeper makes a routine catch. He also holds Beinat’s right‑footer before immediately attempting a shot at the empty net at the other end, missing by a whisker. The clock hits 60 minutes. Tre Fiori win a free‑kick, which Tamagnini plays to Giorgini. Beinat gets there first, but the loose ball sits up again for Tamagnini, who instantly feeds Podeschi: the shot is half‑blocked but not diverted by Casadei. The ball might have been heading in anyway, but Tamagnini decides it is not worth the risk: his touch on the goal line secures Tre Fiori’s third and a lead that Tre Penne will find incredibly hard to overturn. Penserini’s men make one final attempt with the flying goalkeeper. Ruben Casadei himself takes responsibility for the last shot, a low drive which his opposite number Lonfernini turns behind for a corner. The corner will not even be taken. At the final whistle, Tre Fiori are up to eighth while Tre Penne are definitively locked into fifth, much to the delight of Virtus who, next Monday, can even afford to lose and still hold on to fourth place and all the attached benefits. This evening, at the Acquaviva Sports Hall, the round concludes with Pennarossa v Cosmos.
