Futsal, U19 Euro: San Marino in three-team group with Azerbaijan and Kosovo

The draws for the Preliminary Round and Main Round of qualifying for the next Under-19 Futsal EURO took place today. The San Marino national team, already confirmed as hosts of their mini-tournament, have discovered their opponents who, as in their most recent European campaign, will again be two rather than three. Placed in Group B of the Preliminary Round, Matteo Selva’s Titani will face their counterparts from Azerbaijan and Kosovo. There is already a precedent with the latter, namely the qualifying tournament played in 2019, again on home soil. In fact, that San Marino v Kosovo fixture marked the absolute competitive debut of the San Marino Under-19 futsal national team. The meeting with Azerbaijan, instead, will be a first. The winners of the three groups – A, B and C – will join the 25 teams already allocated to the seven groups of the Main Round, which leads to the Final Tournament, where hosts Moldova are already assured of a place.
