Futsal: Fiorentino flawless, draw between Virtus and Tre Fiori
Fiorentino do not slip up and, thanks to a narrow win over La Fiorita in the seventh round of the Campionato Sammarinese futsal, they reclaim top spot alongside Folgore. For Michelotti’s side it is a seventh straight victory in as many games, an almost perfect run of form. Danilo Busignani starts strongly and scores twice within a few minutes (20' and 24'). In the second half Ghiotti’s team try to get back into it, helped by the sending-off of Matteo Moretti for a second yellow, and in the closing stages an own goal by Busignani arrives. But there is no more time and Fiorentino climb back to first place in the table. For La Fiorita it is a first setback after two wins.
Behind the perfectly-oiled machines Folgore and Fiorentino in the standings we find Virtus and Tre Fiori, four points adrift. Their head-to-head ends all square: Alex Bugli’s side go two goals up thanks to a brace from Paolo Verri, but Luca Pollini’s men respond after the interval with a double from Paolo Casadei.
Juvenes-Dogana also return to winning ways after a two-match drought, putting six past Murata: goals from Muraro and Bacciocchi and a stunning four-goal haul from Jacopo Giardi send Claudio Zonzini’s team into raptures. For Murata, who score late through Alessandro Casadei and Alessandro Conti, it is a second defeat in a row.
Second win on the bounce instead for Tre Penne, who defeat San Giovanni in a thrilling 4-3 contest: Gianni Galli’s side race into a three-goal lead through a Volpinari own goal and strikes from Contato and Francesconi; the Rossoneri get back into it with Giacobbi and Giglietti, but Contato again, on 53 minutes, scores his second and the decisive goal (Lorenzo Agostini’s late strike proves in vain).
First league win for Cosmos, who beat Faetano with a resounding 5-0: braces from Matteo Iuliani and Matteo Cervellini together with a goal from Michael Mauri seal the maiden victory for the Serravalle-based Gialloverdi. For Faetano, by contrast, it is a fourth consecutive defeat.
The clash between Libertas and Pennarossa ends level, but with plenty of drama: Libertas (Granata) take the lead through Gabriele Taddei, then the Biancorossi turn it around with goals from Federico Rosa and Gianpaolo Brighi. Penserini’s side first draw level again through Taddei and then go in front with Davide Rossi, but in the final stages Brighi once more finds the net for Pennarossa to make it 3-3.
The seventh matchday of the futsal league concludes this evening with Cailungo-Domagnano (21:15, Acquaviva).
