Futsal: Fiorentino hit four as Group B sees double overtaking move
The showcase match of Matchday 13 had only one master: Fiorentino dominate the derby with a resounding 4-0 win, allowing them to keep up the chase of Folgore and, above all, to hold Domagnano at a safe distance. On the other side, Tre Fiori slip up after two consecutive victories and are forced to surrender top spot to La Fiorita, who make no mistake against Juvenes-Dogana. The reigning champions break the deadlock in the derby after 7 minutes through Maiani, then turn the screw with a brace from Moretti. That sequence enables Michelotti’s men to go into the break three goals to the good, and the lead becomes – definitively – four three minutes from time, when goalkeeper Gian Luca Geri also gets his name on the scoresheet. To make Tre Fiori’s night even worse, Cevoli is shown a straight red at the end of the first half.
La Fiorita had already completed a temporary overtake – which by the end of the evening would become permanent – by beating Juvenes-Dogana 3-0. The game is unlocked right from the start by a sharp finish from Pellegrini, who is joined on the scoresheet after the interval by Stolfi, whose brace firmly locks down the three points for the Gialloblù. There is another overtake in Group B, this time Pennarossa taking it back off Virtus just two rounds after losing it to the Neroverdi. The latter fall under the blows of juggernaut Folgore, who are forced to chase after Andreas Bucci strikes to put Virtus ahead with only 3 minutes played. The lead, however, lasts for just under half a period of play: right on the stroke of half-time Rossi levels for the Giallorossoneri. Spada’s fearless youngsters complete the turnaround at the start of the second half through Chezzi; then the ever-reliable Busignani makes sure of Falciano’s eleventh win in eleven games. Pennarossa move back into the play-off places thanks to their victory over San Giovanni. It finishes 3-0 in Acquaviva, with Ciacci opening the scoring and Podeschi closing it out after Brighi had bagged the second. On a night when the play-offs move three steps further away, Gualtieri also has to contend with the dismissal of Camilloni for a second yellow card.
Domagnano extend their unbeaten run to three, easing to victory over Cosmos. The Wolves go two goals up inside a quarter of an hour thanks to quick-fire strikes from Cecchini and then Menghi. In added time at the end of the first half Belloni makes it three, before Dolcini, midway through the second half, definitively wraps things up with a fourth. The haul allows Mussoni’s side to further consolidate their place in the play-off zone – they now sit eight points clear of the chasers – and to focus all their thoughts on hunting down Fiorentino, who occupy second place, four points ahead. Libertas are also three games unbeaten after defeating Faetano and significantly closing the gap on San Giovanni, who are now just two points ahead of Penserini’s men – the coach facing his former club. Giardi breaks the deadlock for the Granata on 13 minutes; barely moments later Taddei doubles the advantage. Faetano respond well and manage to cancel out the deficit through Albani and El Attar. However, in first-half stoppage time there is still room for Davide Rossi to restore the Libertas lead, before they pull away after the break thanks to goals from Francesco Rossi and Giardi again. The latter finishes with a personal brace, which might have been a hat-trick had Giovagnoli not denied him from the spot three minutes into the second half.
