Futsal: La Fiorita face Pennarossa test, derby-flavoured "play-off" between Cailungo and San Giovanni

Exactly like the second, the third round of the futsal league also has no games postponed. All fixtures will be played tomorrow evening and spread across five venues, with Fiorentino and Dogana each hosting a double-header. The Multieventi will stage a clash between two sides still looking for their first points of the season. The difference is that Libertas have one game fewer than Juvenes-Dogana, having sat out last Wednesday’s round. Otherwise, the thoughts and targets are identical for Palermino’s and Levani’s teams (the latter without Chiaruzzi, sent off against Tre Penne), who meet on the Serravalle court at 21:45. At the same time Tre Penne and Faetano will also be in action, in Acquaviva. The San Marino Città side top the table on six points, level with Virtus, and can only aim for three wins from three against a yellow-and-blue outfit who so far have struggled badly, sit bottom with zero points and have the worst goal difference. In short, it will be a top-versus-bottom clash for Roberto Penserini, the current Tre Penne coach, up against his former club. Kick-off is also 21:45 for the other league leaders, Virtus, who after claiming the scalps of Fiorentino and Tre Fiori will look to confirm their form against Folgore, who, after an opening win, were held to a draw by San Giovanni. This one will be played in Domagnano. Like Virtus and Tre Penne, La Fiorita are also on maximum points, although having rested on the first matchday they are for now just off the very top of the standings. A serious test awaits Traviglia’s team, who take on Pennarossa, currently one point ahead of their opponents and denied what would have been a prestigious victory over Murata only in the dying stages. There is undoubtedly a desire for revenge driving Novembrini’s side in what can be considered one of the most interesting and promising fixtures of the entire Monday matchday, scheduled as the late game in Fiorentino. On the same court, Domagnano and Cosmos will get the evening under way, the former eager to erase the recent comeback suffered against Cailungo, the latter needing to get off the mark in the table and forced to do without Bacciocchi, sent off against Fiorentino. Tre Fiori also come into this after a comeback against them which, in the case of Pollini’s Gialloblù, also resulted in a heavy defeat to Virtus. Next up is another high-profile test in the shape of Murata, who only at the death managed to avoid defeat against Pennarossa and have never hidden their ambition to be protagonists against any opposition. As things stand, just a single point separates the two sides. Kick-off is at 20:15. San Giovanni and Cailungo, meanwhile, are locked together on the same number of points, both coming off draws and facing each other in Dogana’s second match of the night. Adding extra spice to this sort of "play-off" is, of course, the fact it is a derby. Fiorentino have a bye this round. Here is the Matchday 3 schedule:
