Futsal: Juvenes-Dogana bring Fiorentino down, Tre Penne hit thirteen

Plenty of goals in the six San Marino Futsal Championship fixtures played last night. Matchday 23 will be completed with the late game tomorrow at the Multieventi, between San Giovanni and Murata (21:45). In the meantime, Folgore have taken a major step towards second place – edging past La Fiorita in the day's big match. The San Marino runners-up, who had gone ahead through Chezzi, overturned the comeback sparked by Bernardi and Giuccioli. Pellegrini and Pasqualini provided the decisive strikes. The defeat cost La Fiorita third place in the table, as they were overtaken by Tre Fiori and are now within reach of Murata. The Fiorentino-based club claimed a 5-1 win over Cailungo, fuelled by braces from Toccaceli and Burioni plus a goal from Morini. Romano Zanotti scored Cailungo’s consolation to make it 3-1 at the time. The biggest upset of this round – if not of the whole season – came in Dogana, where Levani’s Juvenes-Dogana handed Fiorentino their first regular season defeat. The league leaders, who had recorded 19 wins and 1 draw up to yesterday, fell to goals from Borasco and Gianni, the latter striking the winner after Luca Zafferani had levelled at 1-1. Emphatic wins as well for Domagnano and Tre Penne, who both reached double figures against Faetano and Pennarossa respectively. For the Lupi, braces from Menghi, Vagnini, Capone and Bollini delivered eight of the ten goals on the scoresheet; completing the list of scorers were Faetanini’s strike and Mangano’s own goal. An own goal from Lorenzo Bollini on 37 minutes put Domagnano further ahead and finally opened Faetano’s scoring account. There were also plenty of multiple scorers for Tre Penne, who went into half-time leading 8-1. Ciacci netted Pennarossa’s temporary 3-1, before his side were swept away by doubles from Gamba, Salles and Ercolani. Francesconi went one better with a hat-trick, while Fortunato, Moretti, Rossini and Contato also found the net. In the closing minutes Pennarossa reduced the deficit thanks to a brace from Rosa, split by a goal from Davide Selva. With defeats for all of them, the gaps at the bottom remain unchanged. Cosmos still hold a three-point advantage over Cailungo, who sit just outside the play-off zone, despite their defeat to Libertas. Penserini’s side managed to cope with Casadei’s sending-off on 29 minutes, not only keeping a clean sheet during the two minutes of numerical disadvantage, but even going ahead in first-half stoppage time through Davide Rossi. Mattia Mazza then put his name to the second goal midway through the second half.
