Futsal: Virtus defeat La Fiorita, only wins for Fiorentino and Juvenes-Dogana
Virtus move into double figures, claiming a prestigious scalp. Pollini’s Neroverdi edge past La Fiorita of former team-mate Ghiotti, winning 1-0 in the second match of the evening in Fiorentino. The decisive moment is Stolfi’s own goal right at the end of the first half. Virtus remain unbeaten and temporarily move in just behind Fiorentino, while waiting for Folgore to take to the court this evening in the late fixture. Down the table, La Fiorita lick their wounds and are forced to endure a double overtaking from Domagnano and Tre Fiori, both of whom comfortably clear their respective hurdles on the night. The Wolves, fresh from drawing precisely with the Montegiardino side, sweep aside a severely depleted San Giovanni 6-0. The scoring is opened, against his will, by Giacobbi, who diverts Morri’s shot into his own net. The second goal is supplied a few minutes later by Manuel Bollini; then Menghi helps Mussoni’s side pull away with a brace between 24' and 43'. The final seals on Domagnano’s victory – their second, after their opening win over Tre Penne – are applied by Villa and Zanfino. Tre Fiori’s win is also emphatic, as they put seven past Murata. In truth, the gap only really opens up after the break. The first half ends 4-3 in favour of Bugli’s side: the Gialloblù go ahead through Mariotti before an instant Bianconeri equaliser from Della Valle. A Gasperoni penalty and an immediate third from the no.10 seem to launch a mini-break for Tre Fiori. Murata answer through Albani, Tre Fiori counter again with Zanotti, before Conti, in first-half stoppage time, reopens the contest and sets up what looks like an equally hard-fought second half. Those expectations remain purely theoretical, though: Tre Fiori, who lose Cappelli to a straight red early in the half, shift up a gear decisively and eventually finish four goals clear of Leonardo Palermino’s men. In addition to Cecchini and Verri, Gasperoni also gets back on the scoresheet, ending his night with a hat-trick.
Juvenes-Dogana make it three wins from three, staying on the heels of the early leaders by putting four past Cailungo. The evening’s scoring is opened on 15 minutes by Venerucci’s own goal. Cailungo react late in the first half with a 10-metre free-kick converted by Burgagni, but the final word before the break once again belongs to Juvenes-Dogana, who go back in front in stoppage time through Borasco. The Biancorossoazzurri’s lead is then further reinforced after the restart, when another strike from Borasco and one from Quaranta condemn Cailungo to remain pointless, just like the “resting” Tre Penne and Pennarossa, who face Folgore this evening. Libertas had also been on zero points going into the round, but yesterday the Granata celebrated their first league win with a convincing 5-1 over Cosmos. Bacciocchi’s brace paves the way for the Borgo Maggiore side already in the first half; then two goals from Davide Rossi – one at the right end and one at the wrong – further update the scoreline, before Ercolani and Tamagnini add extra gloss to the team’s first celebration in Granata colours. For Cosmos, there is the added negative note of a straight red for Nicola Giorgini midway through the second half. Fiorentino, finally, continue without missing a beat: the Rossoblù leaders make it four wins from four with a 6-3 success over Faetano, whose run is halted after two wins and a draw. Zafferani and Massimo Moroni trade blows in the opening 8 minutes; then Fiorentino regain the lead through Moretti and never relinquish it. The no.8 himself also takes care of the third before being joined on the scoresheet by Ercolani. At the start of the second half Faetano try to respond through Guerra, but Fiorentino immediately restore a safe margin thanks to Ceccoli’s strike. In the last 10 minutes there is another Gialloblù goal – this time from El Attar – and another reply from Fiorentino through the inevitable Moretti, who effectively takes home the match ball thanks to his hat-trick.
