Futsal: Murata hit double figures as Virtus defeat the reigning champions
Fiorentino begin their title defence with a defeat against a completely revamped Virtus side. Pasqualini opens the scoring after 9 minutes, with Stolfi doubling the advantage. Early in the second half comes the third goal, scored by Bernardi; Fiorentino pull one back through their goalkeeper Geri, but it comes in the 59th minute, when it is effectively too late to mount any kind of comeback. There are also two goals between Pennarossa and Juvenes-Dogana, but the Biancorossoazzurri cannot find a way past Bizzocchi. Novembrini’s team secure all three points with a goal in each half: the first from Verri, the second from Gasperoni. By the same scoreline – 2-0 – Domagnano take care of business against San Giovanni on the Multieventi court. The first half is quite cagey: in fact, the Giallorossi’s opener, scored by Bollini, arrives just before half-time. He then bags his brace – effectively wrapping up the contest – just past the midway point of the second half. After their defeat in the Super Cup final, Folgore make a positive start in the league, putting four past Cailungo in a 4-2 win. It is Cailungo who strike first through Rossini. Ercolani and Casali turn the match around between the 13th and 16th minutes. Rossini levels again at the start of the second half, but the stalemate is broken on the quarter-hour by Ballarini’s goal, swiftly followed by Bortolotto’s strike. That is the end of the victories by a two-goal margin. The other two games of the evening instead end in routs, starting with Murata, who put 10 past Libertas. After 7 minutes it is already 3-0, courtesy of goals from Moretti, Ercolani and Cesarini. Before the interval there are three more, scored by Mattioli, Moretti again and Capicchioni. In the first 10 minutes of the second half, Moretti adds another two to his tally; in between, Libertas get on the scoresheet through Zaghini. On 41 minutes Ercolani completes his brace, and with 4 minutes remaining Belloni closes the scoring, giving his side double figures on their seasonal debut. The opener is also very generous for Tre Fiori, who sweep aside Faetano 8-1. The scoring is opened by Ciacci, who ends his evening with four goals to his name, just like Murata’s Moretti. Pollini’s Gialloblù also get goals from Tamagnini, Crescentini, Maiani and Michelotti, the latter after Ciacci’s fourth and Faetano’s consolation, scored by Guidi. At 3-0, Zamboni had missed a penalty.
