Futsal: National Team in Hamburg for World Cup qualifiers
The San Marino National Team has arrived in Hamburg, after spending the night in Milan and departing late this morning from Linate Airport bound for Germany. At 17:30 the official training session will take place, with Osimani focusing on revising the tactical and technical concepts to be put into practice as early as tomorrow against Montenegro. The Titani, who entered Group A of the World Cup qualifiers from the third seeding pot, will make their debut against what is, on paper, the strongest side: "I wouldn’t describe the fixtures as decreasing in difficulty, also because Montenegro and Germany – whom we will face as early as Thursday – in my opinion are fairly similar in level," admits head coach Osimani. "And home advantage could be a decisive factor in the Germans’ performances. The match with Gibraltar is the one that is closest to our qualities, but we will have to approach every single game with the same mentality and attitude: we cannot know when an opportunity will present itself, so we must always be ready to seize it."
As mentioned, San Marino will mark their debut in the 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup qualifiers tomorrow afternoon, in the opening match of Group A. Kick-off for the game against Montenegro is scheduled for 15:00, while the second match – against hosts Germany – is set for 19:00 on Thursday. San Marino’s mini-tournament will conclude on Saturday, with the clash against Gibraltar at 13:00. All matches will be played at the CU Arena in Hamburg, while delayed broadcasts of the Titani’s games will be shown next week within the schedule of San Marino RTV. Further information regarding any possible live coverage by the German broadcaster will be communicated in the coming hours.
