Futsal: all eyes on Domagnano-Tre Fiori in the second leg of the quarter-finals

It will be a decisive Monday evening for the San Marino Futsal Championship, which returns to the court tomorrow for the second leg of the quarter-finals. A week ago Fiorentino, Folgore and La Fiorita, thanks to their emphatic victories, already set their course towards the semi-finals, while everything is still wide open between Tre Fiori and Domagnano. This will in fact be the most intriguing tie, scheduled for tomorrow evening in Domagnano at 21:45. Last Monday the clash ended 1-1, which means that tomorrow evening Alex Bugli’s Gialloblu will have two results out of three in their favour to qualify, by virtue of their better position in the regular season. Manuel Mussoni’s side, on the other hand, must win – by any scoreline – to book their place in the semi-finals. In the regular season, past meetings favour the Gialloblu: two wins out of two, both by a single goal. As already mentioned, the situation is very different in the other three ties scheduled for tomorrow evening. Fiorentino, who already have the Titano Futsal Cup trophy on their shelf after lifting it at the beginning of May, start again from their 9-2 win over Libertas (match scheduled for 21:45 in Fiorentino). It is an almost impossible task for the Granata, who would need to win by eight goals to overturn the first leg. A similar scenario faces Virtus and Juvenes-Dogana, who absolutely must win – and by a considerable margin – if they are to recover from their first-leg defeats against La Fiorita and Folgore respectively. Pollini’s Neroverdi come into the game on the back of a 6-0 defeat a week ago and therefore need to win by at least seven goals against Ghiotti’s Gialloblu. Helping Virtus are the regular-season head-to-heads: victories both home and away (1-0 and 2-0), but tomorrow something extra will be required. Kick-off is at 20:15 in Domagnano. As for reigning champions Folgore, tomorrow in the Serravalle derby against Juvenes-Dogana they will have to protect an excellent 6-1 advantage earned in the first leg. Claudio Zonzini’s team would therefore need to win by at least six goals if they are to knock out Max Spada’s side. However, all this season’s previous meetings have gone the way of the Falciano club. The match will be played in Fiorentino at 20:15.   This is the line-up for the San Marino Futsal Championship quarter-finals:
