Futsal: Pennarossa cruise at the Multieventi as Fiorentino score too late
Pennarossa win the first late fixture of Matchday 26 and restore their cushion over La Fiorita. The Chiesanuova side dominate the clash at the Multieventi, allowing Fiorentino only a late flurry that softens the Rossoblù’s defeat but does nothing to change the outcome. The opening stages are relentless, with Fiorentino carving out at least three chances from set-piece routines. It is Pennarossa, however, who break the deadlock: from the flank Maiani picks out Ceccoli in the middle of the area, and, unmarked, he beats Geri to score the most classic of goals against his former club. Once the quarter-hour has passed, the second arrives. Deluigi completely miscues a pass while acting as flying goalkeeper and Danny Gasperoni gratefully rolls the ball into an empty net. Two minutes later, Verri also gets his name on the scoresheet: Oddone finds him free at the near post and the No.7 even has time to set himself before slotting past Geri. From provider, Oddone turns scorer late in the half when Danny Gasperoni picks him out at the far post and the No.21 makes no mistake with the finish. Felici crashes a sharp diagonal effort off the post, then fires straight at Bizzocchi from a ball laid off by Rossini after a fine passing move. At the other end, Danny Gasperoni too is guilty of a lack of composure in front of Geri. The first half ends with Righi’s goal-line clearance to deny Ceccoli from close range, after he had been teed up by Danny Gasperoni following some neat close control. A couple of saves from Bizzocchi preserve Pennarossa’s clean sheet at the start of the second half. And when the Biancorossi keeper is not involved, a stumble by Felici prevents Fiorentino from pulling one back. Amati, who has replaced Geri, also runs a huge risk. The experienced goalkeeper is let off the hook in particular by Maiani in a one-on-one that strongly smelled of 5-0. Felici has two more efforts from close range, but once again it is Bizzocchi who comes out on top in their duel. Around the midway point of the half, Danny Gasperoni and Verri combine down the flank and the former finishes the move with the strike for 5-0 and his personal brace. Then Verri, on the counter, looks for Toccaceli in the middle of the area but instead finds Felici’s foot: it goes down as an own goal rather than Toccaceli’s, but that does not change the picture. Before long, Toccaceli will still get his goal with a toe-poke right inside the post. Oddone’s shot against the woodwork after a slick one-two with Danny Gasperoni is Pennarossa’s last roar. The finale belongs to Fiorentino, with Andrea Gasperoni and Bernardi turning two Rossini assists into goals. In between, Bizzocchi produces a stunning save, again to deny Bernardi. The round concludes this evening with Folgore v Murata.
