Futsal: Tre Penne leapfrogs four teams after late fixture win
Tre Penne claim a hugely important victory in Tuesday’s late fixture. The 2-1 win over Cosmos allows the Biancoazzurri to move above four rivals in one go and climb to 9 points, giving them – for the time being – a relatively safe cushion over those bottom three places where Galli’s men had found themselves stuck until just a few matchdays ago. The match in Acquaviva springs to life early: after 3 minutes Tre Penne are already in front thanks to Capelli, facing his former club. The second for the Biancoazzurri arrives towards the end of the first half and it is Conti who applies the finishing touch. However, he is also involved in the incident that reopens the contest at the start of the second half: a foul in the area by number 23, denying a clear goalscoring opportunity. A penalty is awarded (and a red card shown) and Michele Casadei makes no mistake from the spot. Despite their best efforts, Cosmos cannot find another way past Ramon Casadei’s goal, and so Tre Penne – at the final whistle – can celebrate their third league victory and move into calmer waters. Cosmos, on the other hand, remain in troubled territory, now third from bottom in the table.
