Futsal: San Marino to host UEFA Under-19 European Qualifiers
On 31 October at 14:15, the draws for the Preliminary Qualifying Round of the UEFA Under-19 Futsal European Championship and the subsequent Main Round will take place. The international fixtures, organised as mini-tournaments of three or four teams, will be played in the windows of 21–26 January (PR) and 25–30 March 2025 (MR). There are 36 national teams at the start, including Moldova, who will host the final tournament and are therefore already assured of a place in the event that will decide the continental title.
The young Biancazzurri, in their fourth participation, will start from the Preliminary Round and – as on two previous occasions – will play the tournament at home. In fact, the San Marino Football Federation has successfully applied to host the UEFA Under-19 Euro Qualifiers, which will be held at the Multieventi in the penultimate week of January 2025. The dates still need to be finalised, taking into account accommodation availability for the four delegations involved, in light of other concurrent events – also in Romagna. The Titans can only be drawn into Group A or Group B (depending on the moment of the draw, whether they are drawn first or second). This would place San Marino in a group of four teams (A) or three teams (B). It is impossible for them to be placed in Group C, for which no host association has been identified and which will be arranged between the teams involved in that section. The Biancazzurri are 34th in the UEFA ranking for Under-19 Futsal national teams, ahead of Estonia, whom they beat at the Multieventi in 2021.
