Futsal: this time Denmark too strong for the National Team

Denmark handed the futsal National Team their first defeat in their third consecutive outing at the February Cup in Labin. For a long stretch the match remained locked in perfect balance. The 1-0 arrived late in the first half, when Gantzhorn’s mishit shot turned into an inviting assist for Wiese, who calmly beat Geri from close range. At the start of the second half came the second goal, originating from a throw‑in. After a brief circulation the ball was played to El-Ouaz, who initially feinted the shot before unleashing a right‑footer that nestled right inside the post. The 3-0 followed just over a minute of effective play later, in circumstances very similar to the previous goal. Again it all started from a throw‑in, played towards Jorgensen, who struck powerfully from distance (with his left, unlike El‑Ouaz) to beat Geri for the third time. The scoreline was altered twice more in the closing stages of the game. The fourth came from a clever toe‑poke by Sorensen, who found the far corner from a tight angle. By then coach Osimani had already deployed the flying goalkeeper. And it was with the extra man in the opposition half – specifically, Zafferani – that the 5-0 also materialised. Busignani was unable to dribble past Jorgensen who, after winning back the ball, instantly swept it into the now unguarded net, securing his brace and putting the final seal on the Scandinavian victory. Today at 16:00 Osimani’s men play their fourth and final match, against Greenland.
