Futsal: Tre Fiori and La Fiorita dreaming of a comeback, losers head to the third-place play-off
The final 60 minutes to decide the two Championship finalists. The Multieventi Sport Domus is ready to host the second leg of the semi-finals, with Folgore and Fiorentino carrying important advantages to defend, both aiming to battle for a second consecutive national title after their hugely entertaining duel in the Futsal Cup. First, however, Spada’s and Michelotti’s sides will have to extinguish the last hopes of Tre Fiori and La Fiorita. Bugli’s Gialloblù – with their coach still suspended – will be first onto the Serravalle court to face Folgore, with the need to score four more goals than the reigning champions, the consequence of the 4-1 defeat in the first leg and their inferior league position. A very tough task for the men from the Castle of Fiorentino, although they will get back an important piece in Danny Gasperoni. On the other side, the season is over for Yuri Rossi, banned for two games by the Sports Judge after the events of the first leg. The match will be refereed by Tonelli and Piccoli, assisted by Notarpietro.
Immediately afterwards, La Fiorita and Fiorentino will battle for the other place in the Scudetto final. Here the gap is narrower: after the first round, the cup holders have a two-goal cushion. Giuccioli’s goal keeps alive the hopes of Ghiotti’s team, who tomorrow will need to win by a three-goal margin to overturn the tie. One return and one loss for Michelotti, who welcomes back captain Ceccoli but will be without Ercolani. Ercolani and Lanuti, assisted by Notarpietro, will take charge of the game. No extra time or penalties will be played if the aggregate score is level. The winners will advance to the grand final on 6 June, while the losers will contest the third-place "finalina", also scheduled for the evening of the 6th.
