Future fans on the way: FSGC to donate National Team shirts to newborns
From today and through to the end of 2023, every baby born in the Republic will receive a mini San Marino National Team shirt. This is the latest FSGC initiative aimed at further expanding the family of its supporters.
A symbolic meeting was held this afternoon at the State Hospital of San Marino, during which the first "baby" size shirts in the traditional white and light blue colours were handed over. Attending the event were the Director of the UOC of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the ISS, Dr Miriam Farinelli, representing the ISS Executive Committee the Administrative Director, Dr Marcello Forcellini, FSGC Vice President Simone Grana, FSGC General Secretary Luigi Zafferani and Head of Social Responsibility Activities, Andrea Zoppis.
"The presentation,” commented Secretary Zafferani, “is a small gesture that we want to make to all future Sammarinese newborns. Our shirt is a symbol of the Republic and the Nation. At such a special moment as a birth, the Federation does not want to be intrusive, but simply to give the newborns a small keepsake, in the hope that one day, when they are older, they might come and cheer on the National Team at the stadium".
Alongside the shirt, a small scroll will also be given, bearing a symbolic message dedicated to the baby and the family. This afternoon the first shirt was already presented to little Elena, born last night and already a young supporter of the San Marino National Team.
