WOMEN’S SECTION
Sassuolo lay down the law in both the Under-15 and Under-17 age groups. The younger girls scored through Terenzi away to the Neroverdi, but that was not enough to avoid a 2-1 defeat, which ends the team’s long golden run under coach Giacomo Piva. The win for the Emilia side was even more emphatic in the Under-17 category, this time without conceding. Katia Cerea’s girls were forced to succumb 3-0 to their Neroverde peers. The first outing of the Under-12s in the Interprovincial championship ended in defeat in a game full of goals. Hosts Riccione edged it 3-2. Tomorrow the Titane are back on the pitch for their home debut against Ravenna. Kick-off in Acquaviva is at 18:30.MEN’S SECTION
National championships On a weekend featuring a double away trip to Modena, it was in the Marche that the standout result came for the three “national” teams still playing for three points. The Under-16s claimed their second league win thanks to a late strike from Riccardi deep into stoppage time: the left-back coached by Leoni had also signed the opening goal for the Biancazzurri, cancelled out by Taddei 11 minutes into the second half. His last-gasp effort in the 3rd minute of added time gave Riccardi his brace and Leoni’s side a second league victory, after the one taken on Matchday 2 away to Fermana, when it finished 4-1. By contrast, the two away fixtures in Modena mentioned earlier yielded no points. The Under-15s went down by a single goal to the Canarini, who took the lead on 19 minutes through Bellei but were pegged back in first-half stoppage time when Protti found his moment of glory. The winning goal came in the middle of the second half, scored by substitute Zucca just a few minutes after his introduction. The gap between the Emilia side and San Marino was wider in the Under-17 category: Bonesso’s team could only grab a consolation goal – Gjepali converting a penalty – one minute from time, by which point Modena had already pulled away to a provisional 5-0 lead. For the hosts there was a brace from Lisanti and goals from Ghillani, Badiali and Vicini. Provincial and regional championships The long weekend for the Biancazzurro academy began on Thursday with the Provincial “A” Esordienti’s clash away to Misano, who were not only at home but also on top in three of the four phases. The first period ended 3-0 to the Romagna side, who drew 1-1 in the second (Maiani on target for San Marino) before returning to celebrate in the third, when Gianani, for the Academy side, was unable to contain the opponents’ verve. That phase finished 3-1, and Misano then also took the shootout contest 26-16, wrapping up the afternoon with an overall 4-1 scoreline. There was a clear win, instead, for the “B” Esordienti, in action in Montegiardino on Sunday morning. All phases of play went the way of the young Biancazzurri, who beat Promosport 4-0 in the first period (goals from Ballarini, Maiani and a brace by Gatti), prevailed 2-1 in the second (Bacciocchi and Gasperoni on the scoresheet) and roared again in the third, making it 4-0 thanks to strikes from Gasperoni, Cika, Maiani and Gatti. The shootouts also strongly favoured the Biancazzurri, who closed them out 27-14. It was 4-0 again but with the opposite outcome for the Under-13 Professionals, who were forced to capitulate in the second chapter of the double-header with Bologna, this one played on the Fiorentino pitch. Bologna repeated the 4-0 from the first meeting, winning all three periods – without conceding – and then also coming out on top in the shootouts, 30-21. Speaking of home fixtures, the match for the Under-14 Professionals was postponed, while the nine-a-side Under-14s recorded a big win in Domagnano at the expense of San Vito. The 5-1 was opened by an own goal from Matteoni, who later also put his name on the scoresheet at the right end but only after Gasperoni had doubled the lead for Baschetti’s side. At 2-1 the hosts went back on the front foot and eventually wrapped up victory thanks to goals from Palmieri, Guerra and Tommaso Maria Bacciocchi. By the same 5-1 scoreline, the Provincial Allievi marked their return to action with a return to winning ways. In Dogana, Tropical Coriano were forced to bow to the Sammarinese wave, which began to rise on 37 minutes when Casadei opened the scoring. The Titani then created a cushion with goals from Ciacci, Terenzi and Guzman, before Tropical managed to beat the home keeper through Rattini. That was not the final word: that belonged to Ciacci, who three minutes from time sealed the 5-1 result and his personal brace. The Provincial Giovanissimi coached by Piselli snatched a last-gasp draw away to Del Conca. The first half ended goalless, and in the second the Sammarinese took the lead through Burioni. Del Conca reorganised and in the space of ten minutes – between the 56th and 66th – turned the game around thanks to goals from Corja and Fonte. But the final word went to the Academy, with Zavoli striking almost at the death to make it 2-2.FUTSAL SECTION
Big win for the Under-21 futsal side on Sunday in their home match against Real Casalgrandese. In Acquaviva, Matteo Selva’s boys ran out 6-2 winners, rediscovering a league success that had been missing since the reverse fixture away to the Reggio Emilia side. The first half was finely balanced, with Benmansour cancelling out the opener from Gamba for the hosts. After the break Selva’s team shifted up a gear, retaking the lead through Quaranta and pulling clear thanks to a double from Rosa and another brace from Cavalli, before Qoura updated the scoresheet again without ever really changing the destiny of the contest.National Under-17 Championship, Matchday 15 | Modena - San Marino Academy 5-1 MODENA Guadalupi (from 80' Salati), Gilioli, Lecini, Pelloni (from 61' Cavani), Carra (from 80' Munzone), Shanableh, Badiali (from 46' Vicini), Pivetti (from 71' Fugallo), Araldi (from 71' Barbieri), Ghillani (from 61' Lisanti), Paglia Substitutes: Gaudiano, Alexander Obeng Coach: Cesare Maestroni SAN MARINO ACADEMY Borasco (from 80' Chiarabini), Shurdaj (from 46' Caushaj), Gasperoni (from 65' Caddy), Valli Casadei, F.
