FSGC leadership at the FIFA Congress in Thailand

The 74th FIFA Congress was held in recent days in Bangkok, with the participation of the senior management of the San Marino Football Federation. Representing the FSGC in Thailand were President Marco Tura, Vice President Simone Grana and General Secretary Luigi Zafferani. Among the main developments to emerge from the first Congress ever organised in South-East Asia was the appointment of the host nation for the FIFA Women's World Cup. The tenth edition of the global tournament will be staged in Brazil in 2027. In his address to the Congress, FIFA President Gianni Infantino underlined the fundamental objective of the world football governing body: to support the growth of football globally and to provide more opportunities for competitive fixtures for teams all around the world. Opening the Congress proceedings, he also highlighted the power of football to bring people together: "Football unites the world. Even though we know all too well that today we live in an aggressive and divided world," Infantino stressed. "Uniting the world is our responsibility, our response to aggression, hatred, war. Football brings together people from every corner of the globe. The only thing that matters is the colour of the shirt that players wear for their club or national team."
