FSGC mourns the passing of Totò Schillaci

The San Marino Football Federation has learned of the untimely passing of Totò Schillaci, an unforgettable champion and undisputed star in the Azzurri shirt at the 1990 World Cup – the last to be hosted in Italy, where he finished as the tournament’s top scorer. His exploits and celebrations fuelled the dreams and passion of so many supporters, filling the “Notti Magiche” – those “Magic Nights” – with expectation and excitement. We will cherish the enduring memory of a man of great human and sporting values, whom we had the good fortune to meet during one of his visits to San Marino and to the headquarters of the Football Federation in June 2020.
