National Team gearing up for World Cup Qualifiers

Fresh from what is probably the most exciting and rewarding period in its history, the San Marino National Team is launching its 2025 commitments with another training session, giving Roberto Cevoli the chance to assess on the pitch the many, many young players who sooner or later will bolster the ranks of the Biancazzurri. The San Marino Football Federation, just like the Head Coach, has never hidden its firm intention to focus on youth. A strategy that last year yielded significant dividends, as shown by the seven points collected in four UEFA Nations League matches in a group that saw the Titani finish top and secure promotion to League C in the next edition of the competition. Now the challenge becomes even greater, with the bar inevitably being raised further. March will bring the start of the Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States, which for San Marino means double-headers against Austria, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Cyprus. Four competitive fixtures on the road to the World Cup finals, which the Biancazzurri could also target via the play-offs reserved for some of the group winners from the last UEFA Nations League. In the meantime, this evening Roberto Cevoli and his staff will oversee the second training session of the calendar year, also involving many Sammarinese youngsters who in recent months have been standing out at their respective clubs and – in some cases – in those clubs’ youth sectors. The Biancazzurri will report at 18:00, before holding the session at San Marino Stadium from 19:00.
