Championship BKN301 and Titano Cup BKN301 draws on Monday

Although it has already begun with the European competitions, the 2023-24 San Marino football season will be officially unveiled with the draws for the BKN301 Championship fixture list and the BKN301 Titano Cup bracket. On Monday 7 August at 21:00, at the Casa del Calcio in Montecchio, the two competitions will be revealed, with a significant new development as far as the league is concerned. There will be 16 teams at the start, with the San Marino Academy Under 22 as the new entry: the new side, coached by Matteo Cecchetti, will line up on the starting grid of the competition. It will also be able to qualify for the play-offs and lift the trophy, but it will not be eligible to take part in European competitions. The league format remains unchanged: whoever finishes first at the end of the regular season will be crowned Campione del Titano, after which the play-offs will determine the runners-up, who will enter the preliminary rounds of the UEFA Europa Conference League. The BKN301 Titano Cup, on the other hand, remains unchanged compared to last season. Fifteen teams will be placed in the bracket: the competition will start from the Round of 16, with defending champions Virtus entering the fray directly at the quarter-final stage. A different arrangement to the league applies to San Marino Academy Under 22, who will not take part in the competition. In addition, seeding will be applied in the Round of 16: Tre Penne, La Fiorita and Tre Fiori cannot face each other before a possible semi-final. No such restriction applies to the other teams involved. All ties will be played over two legs, with extra time and penalties if required. The next chapter of the 2023-24 season will come on Friday 1 September, when the first trophy of the campaign will be awarded: Tre Penne, champions in the league, will face Virtus, cup winners, in the 2023 San Marino Super Cup.
