Matteo Cecchetti among the graduates of the UEFA Pro course in Coverciano

The list of graduates from the latest UEFA Pro coaching course held in Coverciano also included the name of a Sammarinese coach: Matteo Cecchetti. The Head Coach of the Under-21 National Team has obtained the highest possible qualification for a football coach – the one that allows him to take charge of any team, at any level – completing a programme that began in September 2025 and featured both classroom and on-pitch sessions at the Federal Technical Centre in Coverciano, as well as placements with major clubs: in Italy, Como, Milan, Cagliari and Genoa; in Spain, Racing Santander. All of these were highly prestigious experiences and, above all, of inestimable educational value for Matteo Cecchetti and his fellow course participants, enabling them to vastly expand the knowledge base they already possessed, and to approach today’s and tomorrow’s football with all the tools that a training hub of absolute renown such as the Coverciano Technical Sector can provide. And speaking of Cecchetti’s fellow course participants, the list includes some names that will sound very familiar to football fans: Vikash Dorasoo, Alessandro Diamanti, Samir Handanovic and Franck Ribery – to mention only the best known. In a certain sense, Matteo Cecchetti brought San Marino into the classrooms of Coverciano. His dissertation is in fact entitled “Challenging the Impossible” and focuses on the evolution of the National Team of the Titan.
