National Team, Cevoli: "Winning tomorrow would be something historic"

It is the eve of San Marino-Gibraltar, effectively one of the most important matches in the history of San Marino football. The Nations League clash – scheduled for tomorrow at the San Marino Stadium at 20:45 – will be decisive for both the Biancoazzurri and the Reds, each eager to achieve something historic. Above all for the Titani who – after the unforgettable win around two months ago against Liechtenstein – now have their first, historic match point. If they win, San Marino would move above Gibraltar and seal promotion with a game to spare to League C of the Nations League. "The lads are training well,” said Head Coach of the Titani Roberto Cevoli“and they are ready for this match. We know how important it is, we can aim for something never achieved before. With that in mind, the team will have to be careful not to waste mental energy and stay fully focused on the game." For Gibraltar, tomorrow’s match can be regarded as a last chance to qualify for League C – something that would only happen if the team from the Rock wins – while in the event of a draw San Marino would still have Monday’s game against Liechtenstein to play. However, the Titani’s Head Coach does not want to do the maths and is going all out for the win: "Personally, I would like to finish the job tomorrow night, but with September’s victory over Liechtenstein we have also earned ourselves a second chance to go through." Lorenzo Lazzari is ready too, and is getting back to his best condition: "We’re fired up and we can’t wait to get out on the pitch. I won’t hide my emotions either – said the young midfielder at the press conference – because we know that by winning tomorrow we can do something historic. We’re facing a team that is more physical than us and very strong on set pieces. We’ll have to be particularly careful about that." Finally, these are the players called up by Head Coach Roberto Cevoli for tomorrow’s match with Gibraltar, kicking off at 20:45 at the San Marino Stadium (live radio commentary on Titani.tv):
